SPE Papers, Industry Presentations and Quotes from Customers Illustrate the Industry’s Response to Emerald Surf Solutions
Using HydroLyft on this well significantly decreased the volume of field water required to be trucked in. This refrac operation called for a low density fluid to circulate bottoms up, barrel in barrel out. In order to execute this job properly the toe of the well needed to completely washed out and all new frac plug drilled out.
WELL DEPTH – 19,727 TD
FLUID DENSITY – 5.9 lbs./gl.
Removing debris generated from drilling out 96 frac plugs in a low bottom pressure well requires engineered fluid rheology. HydroLyft’s density was modulated on the fly to adapt variable well pressures. The viscous fluid entrapped the drilled out plug parts and effectively removed them for the wellbore.
PUMP RATE – in 3.25 bbl. – out 3.03 bbl.
FLUID VISCOCITY – 66 sec
Fluid loss due to hydrostatic pressure exceeding bottom hole pressure creates many challenges for production clean outs and post‐frac drill outs. Utilizing the variable density structuralized micro‐foam and unique rheological properties of HydroLyft™, Operators in every major basin are successfully cleaning out debris and consistently reaching PBTD with less total fluid on location, no Nitrogen assist, and no formation damage. The significant uplift in production from these improved clean‐out methods significantly boost ROI for the Operators compared to other methods
Why it’s important:
ESS helped them conclude that the consistent application of the optimization process reveals which key performance indicators have the greatest impact on performance which further improves consistency and predictability of the results
Why it’s important:
The ESS optimization process starts by establishing key performance indicators and implementing tools and practices to track them on every well
Why it’s important:
ESS applies scientific and engineering principles to understand the cause & effect of procedural changes enables quantitative data-driven decision trees to be implemented on each well
Why it’s important:
ESS constructs meaningful and comprehensive operational-context data comparisons in the wells throughout the field, empowering maximum asset valuation and lowest cost operations to become systemic best practices
Why it’s important:
ESS has the scientific tools and engineered solutions at the well-head to enable meaningful experimentation to be conducted on location that will feed real-time quantitative results back into the optimization cycle
“I can’t imagine going back to the old way of mixing chemicals. Experienced technicians test the water and compatibility before ever starting the job. Fluid rate pump reporting is available with OpsViewer to spot and correct problems before they happen.”
